TUKIJITUMA:
TERMS
&
CONDITIONS

Thanks for your Interest in Tuki-Jituma!

Tuki-Jituma is a Citi and Girl Effect initiative run by Girl Effect Kenya. We work to empower young people like you.

Tuki-Jituma means Together We Thrive. Our mission is to help young people aged 18 to 24 build real skills, develop professional portfolios, and transition into sustainable income through the digital and creative economy.

This website is the home of the Tuki-Jituma programme, digitally. Through it, you can learn about the programme, apply to join, complete onboarding, access tools and resources, build your portfolio, connect with the chatbot, and explore opportunities within your field.

It’s also a space for our partners. They can access programme information, submit reporting, and coordinate with the Girl Effect team.

Because this space is for us all, we have a few ground rules. Please check them out and follow them. They aren’t the kind of rules to stop you from having fun - they are here to make sure everyone is safe and using Tuki-Jituma the right way!

Feel free to get in touch with us with any questions or comments by emailing tukisonga@girleffect.org. We love hearing from you!

The Rules

1) We may make changes to these rules from time to time. Please make sure you are aware of the most recent version by checking back here. We may also make changes to Tuki-jituma, including temporarily shutting it down, to improve your experience. We will do our best to notify you in advance, but this may not always be possible.

2) Tuki-Jituma is intended for people above 18 years. If you are under the age of 18, please do not use Tuki-Jituma. If you must, please make sure you check with a parent or guardian first.

3) When you use Tuki-Jituma, we will collect personal information from you. Please read our Privacy Policy to find out what information we collect and how we store and use it.

6) We may ask your opinion in surveys. Please only participate if you want to; these surveys are not a must. We do this so we can better understand how you use the Tuki-Jituma and to provide more useful content to you (and other users of Tuki-Jituma). We may share the results with others, but this will never include your personal information unless we have expressly told you otherwise.

10) Tuki-Jituma is intended for your personal use only. This website is also not intended for commercial use by businesses that are not programme partners. If you are a business and you are not a registered programme partner, please contact us before using any part of this platform.

11) Your safety is the most important thing to us. The Tuki-Jituma platform is designed to be a safe space for every young person who uses it.

13) If at any time you break any of these rules, we may (among other actions) stop you from using Tuki-Jituma in the future.

14) If you apply to participate, Girl Effect will review your submission against the programme’s eligibility and selection criteria. To be considered, applicants must be between 18 and 24 years of age, reside in Nairobi County, be available to participate in online and in-person programme activities between July and September 2026, demonstrate an active interest in the digital or creative industries, and be willing to actively participate in training, assignments, mentorship, and programme activities.

15) Applications may be assessed based on eligibility, alignment with the available programme pathways, demonstrated interest and motivation, evidence of work, skills, creativity, digital activity, or entrepreneurial initiative where available, commitment and readiness to participate, programme capacity, and pathway availability.

16) Applicants may be asked to provide evidence of their interest, activity, or potential in the digital or creative sectors. This may include, where applicable, links to social media pages, creative work, digital content, portfolios, previous projects, client work, school or community projects, business activity, or any other relevant examples that show initiative, creativity, or practical interest.

17) Applications may be reviewed on a rolling basis against the eligibility and selection criteria. Meeting the eligibility criteria or applying early does not guarantee selection. Final selection shall be at the sole discretion of Girl Effect. Due to the high number of applications expected, only successful applicants may be contacted.

18) If you apply to Tuki-Jituma, you may be asked to provide documentation to support your eligibility. These documents will be kept confidential and only accessed by the Girl Effect team assessing your eligibility.

19) Tuki-Jituma is an opportunity platform, not a job guarantee. Tuki-jituma offers training and linkage opportunities to select participants and create real, accessible pathways for you. But whether you get a specific job, gig, or contract depends on your skills, the employer's decision, and market availability — all things outside our control

20) If you have a complaint, or if you are concerned about anything you see on Tuki-jituma, please speak out and get in contact with us by emailing: tukijituma@girleffect.org
